Earlier in the week it was announced that the Aztecs had sent out an offer to an intriguing prospect in the Las Vegas area, Glenn Taylor. Taylor is a 6-6 guard/wing player from North Las Vegas, Nevada. He is currently a three-star prospect in the 2021 class, however he is on the rise and is already ranked 138 by 247Sports.
Taylor plays for Cheyenne High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, and runs with Dream Vision in the AAU season. A big guard, Taylor can impact the game all over the floor. From watching film it is easy to see how athletic and versatile he is on both ends of the court. He can get to the basket with ease and is comfortable in transition, both with or off the ball. Also, he has a motor that does not stop and works hard both on offense and defense. To get a sense of his game, we asked Taylor what he thinks that he does best and what he brings to the court each and every game.
"I'm a player that does everything on the court. I can rebound, score, pass, and defend pretty much everything it takes to win . I feel like the best aspect of my game is I have the ability to make everyone better on the court."
San Diego State was Taylor's 11th offer so far, joining a growing list of teams from a variety of conferences (some of these schools include Nevada, UNLV, USC, and Washington State). The increased notoriety is due to his improvement and growth on the court. His hard work has led to further development, which in turn has led to more offers. While not an early offer, the Aztecs are invested in recruiting Taylor and he recognizes San Diego State as a good program and is excited to see his hard work paying off.
"I know San Diego State is a winning program with a great coaching staff. And with every offer I get it feels good to see the hard work is paying off."
San Diego State fans all know that the program has a strong family environment and a focus on player development. Each player is in search of different things, but what a lot of what Taylor wants could be found on the Mesa. He mentions coaching as well as an ability to be an impact player at the next level as a reason for the school he might choose.
"I'm looking really for the school with the right tradition and coaching; somewhere I can go in and make a mark."
