Viejas Arena was rocking last night as San Diego State hosted Kansas. It seemed like everyone in the city was on hand to see the most anticipated game of the season, including local recruit Taeshon Cherry.
Cherry is a 2018 prospect from St. Augustine High School here in San Diego. The 6-foot-8 prospect doesn’t have an official offer from the Aztecs yet, however he mentioned in late September that the Aztecs were recruiting him hard.
Cherry seemed to have had a great time at the game, as seen by some of his tweets:
The Aztecs are involved in Cherry’s recruitment, as are some big name schools from around the country. Within the last three months Arizona, Kansas, and UCLA have visited him, while California, Colorado State, and Nevada have officially offered.
Currently Cherry is not in our CPI due to the fact that he lacks an official offer from San Diego State, however when he does get one we will be sure to reach out to him and get his thoughts about where the Aztecs stand.
