Rejean “Boogie” Ellis trimmed his list this week from nine down to five. Ellis announced his five finalists via Twitter and it consisted of Duke, Memphis, North Carolina, San Diego State, and Southern California. Ellis took official visits to Duke, North Carolina, and Southern California and unofficials to both Memphis and San Diego State.
The 6-2 combo guard is San Diego’s premier player and one of the best on the west coast. Our good friend, Aaron Burgin, is a local scout and writer for PrepHoops.com and he spoke with Ellis about his top five. This is what Ellis told Burgin about San Diego State.
“Great coaching, great relationships, and it’s hometown.”
Ellis plans on announcing his commitment on November 9th. He mentioned to Burgin the things that he is considering en route to making his decision.
“My deciding factors will be who I have the best relationship with, and who I feel I can trust the most, and a school that has a vision for me where I can also play right away and be an impact player.”
Duke and North Carolina have been receiving a lot of buzz lately in regards to Ellis, however if you have followed his recruitment closely you would have found times where all schools in his top five were thought to be the leader. There is hope that Ellis chooses the home team, however it would not be surprising if he took his talent elsewhere. We will find out in less than two weeks what jersey Ellis will be donning in college.
