Aztecs Offer Intriguing 2021 Prospect

Members of the San Diego State coaching staff were watching Coleman Hawkins at Prolific Prep when a tall 6-7 guard caught their eye. This player was so intriguing that the staff made some calls and Coach Brian Dutcher extended an offer to 2021 prospect Jaden Jones.

Jones transferred to Prolific Prep this summer after playing his first two years in Texas. He played this past summer for Mudiay Elite of the Under Armour Association.

Video was limited of Jones, however I liked what I saw from the video I did get to see. Watching film on Jones it is easy to see all the measurable that make him an intriguing prospect. At 6-7 he can create matchup problems on the offensive end. He can take it into the paint and drop the floater for two, however defenders cannot cheat and sag off of him on defense because he has range the extends well past the three-point line.

Jones is currently under the radar; however, I do not expect that to be the case for very long. Per the Verbal Commits website he has an offer from Delaware State, but he lacks a 247Sports profile and Rivals has him unranked. Expect that to change, as some high major schools have been in to see him over the last couple of days.

The Aztecs getting in on Jones early is good news as he will likely flourish at Prolific Prep. His recruitment seems to just be beginning; we will monitor it as it develops.
