Last night 2021 guard Jaden Jones cut down his list to a final six and the Aztecs made the cut.
Jones is a 6-7 guard from Dallas, Texas. He made the move from Texas to Prolific Prep in Napa, California, where his recruitment took off. San Diego State was one of the first schools to offer him at Prolific Prep and were able to land the first visit from the four-star prospect. His time at Prolific was short lived as he transferred to St. Louis Christian Academy (MO) this same year. At St. Louis Christian, Jones has been starring against a national level schedule that allows him to show off against the best.
On the court Jones is a point guard even at his 6-7 height. He has a high basketball IQ and is a bucket getter. Jones is known as a very good shooter, especially from beyond the arc, however he is also able to use his height and length against smaller defenders. Beside that, he is a floor general that can run the offense and get his teammates involved.
Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers.com spoke with Jones before his list cutdown. When asked about San Diego State this is what he had to say:
"My first official. So you know they would be in my top 6. The coaching staff is very serious about me being on campus in 2021."
An announcement day has not be announced as he still plans on taking more visits. This spring he will be playing for Bradley Beal Elite in the Nike EYBL. Jones is ranked #129 by 247Sports, but is a player trending in the right direction.
