With the 2018 recruiting class already locked down the Aztecs can start looking ahead to the 2019 class. They have already offered eight players and the local kid with an offer is Rejean “Boogie” Ellis. Ellis plays at Mission Bay High School and for San Diego All-Stars on the AAU circuit.
As a young player Ellis has always been well known locally, but the junior is ready to take his game and recruitment to the next level. Currently the 6-1 guard has offers from schools such as Cal State Fullerton, Tulane, UC Irvine, and others to go with the Aztecs offer. This week the Buccaneers headed up to the California Battle Zone Tournament in Los Angeles and started the year off with two victories.
Ellis led the way in both games scoring 32 and 31 points respectively in each victory. The young Buc has been developing his game and it appears that it was on display once again. He has shown the ability to score at all three levels and facilitate the offense, which he showed by recording eight assists in the second game.
The Aztecs staff has been following Ellis for some time. They offered earlier this year and the staff made multiple trips to his high school to watch him practice in September. It appears he is a priority target and a prospect to watch.
